Privat is a pioneering brand in the production of sulphite-free organic cava.

Josep Maria Pujol-Busquets, Privat’s oenologist, has extensive winemaking experience in different wine regions, not only in Alella, Penedés, Priorat, Rioja and Ribera del Duero, but also in France and Italy, and is considered one of the main architects of cava’s international prestige.

Privat’s cavas are made from grapes grown according to certified organic production methods: without the addition of herbicide or pesticides, and employing techniques such as organic composting and using the vines’ own cuttings as fertilizer.  The harvest is carried out by hand with rigorous monitoring of maturity levels.  The ultimate goal is to maintain biodiversity and a balanced agricultural ecosystem that respects the native flora and fauna, while producing outstanding cavas.

Privat cavas are made from very expressive grape varieties and daring blends that elevate these cavas to the category of a fine wine.  Their understated packaging ensures that they appeal to wine drinkers with cosmopolitan tastes.  The date of disgorgement appears on the label to ensure that they are enjoyed at their very best.

Tasting notes
